Designing consultation spaces in a family medicine clinic to facilitate the partnership between doctor and patient
We conducted observation of medical consultations, visited several clinics, and accompanied vulnerable people during their medical appointments. These visits allowed us to identify design criteria for the project and to clarify the essence of the problem, insights that then served as the basis for a co-design workshop.

"How can physicians' offices foster a partnership between physicians and patients?" This is the question we explored during a co-design workshop organized with patients, caregivers, and family doctors. This workshop allowed us to imagine innovative design solutions to transform the physician/patient relationship.

We designed a new type of consulting room, with a layout providing the space for a conversation that evens out power dynamics and encourages collaboration. Spaces are dedicated to the needs of the patient and those supporting them at each stage of their experience. Housing elements put the patient at ease while reminding us that the doctor is human too.
