Immersion in the field
To immerse ourselves in the space and understand its uses, we conducted a three-day "field sprint" on site. We met with users and spoke with staff to define the project parameters in a way that was sensitive to their needs.
To propose spatial improvements for the kids area in order to increase the presence young people and their attachment to the Médiathèque.
To immerse ourselves in the space and understand its uses, we conducted a three-day "field sprint" on site. We met with users and spoke with staff to define the project parameters in a way that was sensitive to their needs.
Two design proposals were developed and presented. To critically examine the proposals and make an informed choice, we tested them with a few citizens and staff members. Based on these discussions, a committee selected the final concept.
Once the concept was approved, we finalized the plans and models and selected the furniture. As the Médiathèque was keen to prioritize local suppliers, we provided a list of suppliers for the production of custom-made furniture.
