Propose service improvements in 4 pediatric hospitals to make the journey smoother for patients transferring from one hospital to another
To kick off this major project, we held internal workshops that brought together stakeholders representing the four client institutions to map the existing trajectories of their patients. Internal teams also worked to identify the challenges within these trajectories, from their point of view, during the workshops.

Alongside a research team involved in the project, we conducted interviews with the parents of patients who experienced transfers between the client institutions. Often, issues that are identified internally (poorly thought-out processes, unclear communication, etc.) take precedence over the users' lived reality. However, the objective with this research phase was to consider patients' voices side by side with those of internal stakeholders.

Once qualitative research results were finalized, they served as the basis for co-design workshops that brought together stakeholders from our four client institutions as well as partner patients. These online workshops provided the opportunity for everyone to come together to explore a wide range of ideas. Subsequently, we carried out the synthesis, prioritization and further development of the proposed solutions in smaller groups.

Six solutions were selected to address different scales and stages of the patient journey. These solutions were developed in the form of project sheets during work sessions with small groups. With guidance from Meilleur Monde, the solutions were presented to management of the client institutions and were approved for implementation.
